Therapeutic Day Support Services are now available for residents in the city of Stirling. Provided by Stirling Council in partnership with NHS Forth Valley’s Reach team, the services are focussed on promoting a person's independence, improving mobility and reducing risks associated with falling.
Therapeutic Day Support can help people over the age of 65 and recovering following an identified medical condition, such as a fall or a period of ill health. The team works with the individual through a series of exercises to help them regain their confidence.
“We are delighted to continue working with NHS Forth Valley’s Reach team to expand our service to residents living in Stirling,” said Marjie McBride, Interim Day Services manager. “Our pilot project at Callander Medical Centre has proved a great success for local residents.
People who have attended have told us they enjoyed attending the small, friendly classes we run, enabling them to socialise with others in their group, whilst benefiting from regaining confidence to maximise their independence within their own community.”
