Description

 NHS Forth Valley serves the council areas of Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannan, a population of 277,000. The area is served by two district general hospitals: Falkirk Royal Infirmary and Stirling Royal Infirmary. All major elective and emergency surgery is carried out in Stirling Royal Infirmary with Falkirk Royal Infirmary providing facilities for day case, elective surgery and rehabilitation. All surgical services will move to a new hospital between Stirling and Falkirk in 2009. Both Stirling and Falkirk have good rail and motorway access to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the north. There are excellent sporting and leisure facilities, along with a wide variety of schooling and housing.
