Staff Training and Development

  • Education for Living in a Drug Using World.

Public awareness campaigns

  • Supporting the national communications strategy on alcohol "Alcohol - Don't Push It" (challenging a culture of drunkenness and drunken behaviour)

  • Drugs - "Know the Score"

Strategic Developments

  • Develop a health promotion response to alcohol and drug corporate action areas

  • Support the implementation of all three local authority alcohol and drug action plans

  • Review alcohol and drug education provision in view of latest research evidence

  • Act in an advisory role to Scottish Police College and their training programme for drug educators

  • Contribute to the development of workplace alcohol and drug policy development and implementation

Supporting Policy Development and Implementation

  • Training for managers in the implementation of alcohol and drug policies in the workplace

  • Awareness raising sessions for staff in organisations introducing a substance use policy

  • Develop a needs assessment for Primary Care Staff

Information Resources

  • Disseminate a range of nationally developed, accurate and up to date resources on all aspects of drug and alcohol prevention, education and harm reduction.

Advice and Support

  • Help build capacity for health improvement across Forth Valley.

Special Projects

  • Continue to be creative in seeking-out and responding to funding opportunities, to expand or enrich substance use work across the Forth Valley area.
