Secondary School Training (SHARE)

SHARE (Sexual Health and Relationships Education) was a major research project intended to establish whether a specially designed, teacher-led education programme for 13 - 15 year olds can reduce sexual risk taking.  It's aims were to reduce unsafe sex, reduce unwanted pregnancies and improved the quality of relationships.

Health Scotland, formerly the Health Education Board for Scotland, is committed to disseminating learning from the research and has established a network of national trainers to deliver high quality sex and relationships education training for professionals working the the education setting.

It is intended that through this training teachers and other professionals working in schools will be supported to deliver the SHARE materials in school and to review and develop sex and relationships education programmes in general

The SHARE programme is delivered over 3 days, 2 consecutive days with a single additional day.
