Health Promotion works in partnership with colleagues from a range of agencies including the wider NHS family, the three local authorities, voluntary organisations, workplaces and the community.
Collectively we work towards implementing 'Let's Make Scotland More Active' locally within Forth Valley, specifically targeting programmes and initiatives to tackle health inequalities.
In partnership we aim to encourage people of all ages to be active by:
- creating opportunities for active living
- developing high quality physical environments
- providing accessible and affordable facilities and activities
- developing the workforce capacity to promote physical activity
- increasing public awareness of the benefits of physical activity
The specific role of Health Promotion is to:
- support the development and implementation of local strategies and action plans related to promoting physical activity.
- provide advice and support in planning & implementing physical activity initiatives.
- provide training on 'Promoting Physical Activity' (see
Training, Events & Campaigns page).
- support local and national public awareness campaigns relating to physical activity.
- provide a wide range of resources to assist with the development and promotion of physical activity.
