HIRS Resources
	The (HIRS) provides Department staff and other health promoters throughout the NHS Forth Valley area, with access to an extensive range of health promotion resources and other materials. HIRS also has in-house facilities for visiting clients to preview resources and access electronic sources of health information.

They highlight various examples of recovery and we do not suggest any of these experiences as the 'right' or only way to recover. Recovery is an individual and unique process, each person must decide for himself or herself what will work for them. Please carefully consider any decisions you make about your own recovery and talk to someone you trust if you feel unsure.

MEH 39/V	Myths about Madness: Challenging Stigma and Changing Attitudes Target Group: Professionals This training resource breaks new ground in challenging discrimination against people with mental health problems. It exposes irrational fears and clearly presents the facts behind the myths. The video highlights the consequence of other people's attitudes on individuals' lives and the lives of those around them. I expect this valuable resource to make a significant contribution to improving attitudes, services and hence people's lives.
MEH 04/D	Recovery: A Journey of Hope Target Group: General In 2004 the Scottish Recovery Network was set up by the Scottish Executive to take forward the idea of recovery from mental illness in Scotland. From thereon, like minded people with the belief that life could and should be much better for this excluded group began exchanging thoughts on recovery. It soon became quite clear that hope was the key theme in enabling recovery. Today this rediscovered hope has been instrumental in a growing commitment to recovery across the country. The universal aim is to ensure that the dream of recovery becomes a reality for all. 'Recovery: A Journey of Hope⦣128;⦣132;? is testament to the fact that people can and do recover from mental illness.
