Welcome to the Community Section of the Health Promotion Department. The Community setting is one of four settings within the department. The community setting has been revamped and now has 3 full time members of staff, supporting the work across the 3 community health partnership areas.

What we do

  • The community setting's main responsibilities are centred around Community Learning and Development, with our local authority partners and voluntary organisations, including the NHS family.. This involves strategic development of the community learning plans for all areas, development of regeneration outcome agreements across council areas and action planning with thematic sub groups.
  • The community setting also has responsibility for developing effective partnership working with Carers groups, Homelessness organisations and Minority groups.
  • All the work of the community setting team is underpinned by a community development approach.
