User Services

HIRS provides department staff and other health promoters throughout the NHS Forth Valley area, with access to an extensive range of health improvement resources and other information materials. Users are also able to use the HIRS Library facilities for previewing resources and accessing electronic sources of health information.

  • Audio version:  An audio version of the information is also available ... HIRS Information - Audio

    -  To listen to an audio version of a PDF document, you will need to have the free 'Adobe Reader 6.0 program on your PC. The Adobe Reader 6.0 or higher program can be downloaded from . . . www.adobe.co.uk/products/acrobat/readstep2.html 

    -  Next, right click on the audio PDF document and 'Save Target As ...'. Once downloaded and saved, open the document in Adobe Reader 6.0. When the document opens click 'View' on the menu, then select 'Read Out Loud'. You may need to adjust the volume control on your PC or speakers.
