Stirling Royal Infirmary provides a wide range of health services for local people as well as number of specialist health services for patients across Forth Valley. These include A&E, maternity and children's inpatient services.

As part of our agreed strategy to transform healthcare across Forth Valley, acute services currently provided at this site will transfer across to the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbet in summer 2011.

A community hospital will then be developed on the site to ensure that a wide range of health services continue to be provided locally.

These include X-ray services, dermatology, ophthalmology, pain, audiology, antenatal, child health clinics and an urgent care unit which will bring together minor injuries, minor illness and GP out-of-hours services.

Around 90 inpatient beds will transfer from Bannockburn Hospital to provide care for patients who require rehabilitation, palliative and continuing care. The majority of these beds will be provided on-site in a new purpose-built, inpatient facility equipped with single en-suite rooms.
