Services
The Area Rehabilitation Service has been established to serve the people of the Forth Valley Board area, and has a community focus. The service will provide assessment and rehabilitation for people in the 16-64 age group who have a physical disability or brain injury through trauma or progressive disease and provide support and training for relatives and carers. It is our objective to develop a locally based service to meet the expressed views of users and carers in partnership with General Practitioners, Local Authorities, Social Workers and the Voluntary Sectors.
The Service Provides:
a multidisciplinary assessment, held either at a clinic or within the person's own home. rehabilitation goals are then set together with the individual and/or their carer. treatment focuses on improving function until goals have been achieved. information and education for people with disability and their carers on the range of assistance and services available in the Forth Valley. liaison with regional specialist centres to co-ordinate discharge planning arrangements and support to enable patients to return to their own homes within the Forth Valley area. |

Waiting Times
Waiting times are variable depending on the demands of the service. Currently the waiting times are approximately
Urgent - The patient will be seen usually within a couple of working days, sometimes more quickly depending on the referral
Soon - Within 4 weeks
Routine - 12 weeks
Service Hours/ Clinic Times
The Area Rehabilitation Service operates between Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm
Wheelchair Clinics - Run in the Area Rehabilitation Department (in association with WestMARC 0141 201 2624)
MS Clinics - Run on alternate Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings in Stirling Royal Infirmary (SRI) and Falkirk & District Royal Infirmary (in conjunction with )
Spasticity Management Clinics - Run monthly in the Area Rehabilitation Department
MND Clinics - Held in Stirling Royal Infirmary on a monthly basis (in conjunction with Forth Valley Neurology Services)

The NHS Forth Valley - Falkirk Elderly Outreach Services (FALGO) Team provides outreach rehabilitation services for the over 65's in the Falkirk area, whilst the CARE Team provides outreach rehabilitation services for the over 65's in the Stirling and Clackmannan areas.
