Services

Forth Valley Back Pain Service provides a specialist service for people who may usually be referred to orthopaedics with complex or unresolving back pain.

Back pain can be a complex problem which can sometimes require specialist assessment. It is rarely serious, however, and only around 12% of people referred to orthopaedics with back pain go on for further investigation or surgery.  Best placed to provide this specialist assessment is the Back Pain Service, where a specialist Physiotherapist (ESP) working closely with both orthopaedic and pain consultants will ensure the most appropriate management of anyone referred with back pain.

For routine management of back pain you should use the links below or get referred to your local physiotherapy department by your GP.
