Disability Service
The Disability service is located within the Forth Valley Sensory Centre, the centres core opening hours are 9am - 5pm, however pre-arranged appointments are available out with these times, for visitors to the Disability Service.
The service covers the Forth Valley community from Tyndrum in the North to Bo'ness in the south.
We are here to assist NHS staff, patients, carers and visitors have equality of support and access to information and services.
Support, advice and guidance services include:
Physical (adaptations to assist in your day to day living)
Emotional (do you or your family require support)
Information (is it in a suitable format, would you prefer large print for example)
Environmental(where you live, is it suitable for your needs)
Training
The Disability service offers an extensive range of training - in-house and agency (with relevant disability training and trainers) for staff. This includes CACDP (communication for the advancement of deaf people)courses, disability awareness for staff, clients and guidance on adaptations. Wework in partnership and are often able to offer these courses through interagency working.
