Services
The Community Alcohol Service aims to provide easy and rapid access to high quality domiciliary based, specialised alcohol assessment and treatment to the population of Forth Valley.
The Community Alcohol and Drug Service, CADS, is part of NHS Forth Valley. It is divided into two clinical teams which focus upon either Alcohol or Drug use. The Alcohol service was founded in 1991 and has been receiving referrals primarily from GP's since this time.
The service offers, to those referred, a specialist assessment of an individuals alcohol use and makes recommendations regards appropriate treatment. Detoxification programmes, (inpatient and outpatient), will be offered should they be required. The service can also assist those problem drinkers with patterns of "binge alcohol" use who do not require detoxification.
