Fair for All
In order to take forward a strategic approach to ethnic minority health within Forth Valley, the Fair For All Development Group was formed in October 2002 and has and has met regularly since.
As well as involving members of staff from within NHS Forth Valley, this Group includes volunteer advisers from the local ethnic minority communities, local authority colleagues, Central Scotland Police and the Local Health Council.
The role of the Group is to develop a local implementation plan with a mechanism for performance managing delivery in partnership with local people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
Racial Equality
The key principles of the Race Relations (Amendment) Act are:
to eliminate unlawful racial discrimination
to promote equality of opportunity
to promote good race relations between people of different racial groups
Within NHS Forth Valley, we recognise and respect differences and diversity and believe that everybody has a right to be treated with respect and dignity.
We are committed to:
combating racism in all its forms
providing equality of access to our services
providing equality of opportunity to our staff, volunteers and contractors
providing fair and equitable treatment to our staff, volunteers, contractors and partners
making every effort to provide an environment in which our staff, volunteers and contractors feel valued, able to fully contribute and to perform to their full potential
