The sheer stamina of an anaesthetist, a surgeon and an endocrine consultant with NHS Forth Valley plus some friends, earned them almost £4,000 for two charities - Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and the Association for International Cancer Research.

The group set themselves a target to run up the nine highest peaks in the UK, cycling between them all, in a time of l6 hours! In total this represented a run of over 32 miles with l3,500 ft of climbing.

Foggy weather at the start and a thunderstorm at the finish meant they over-ran their time by one hour.

The consultants involved were Surgeon Chris Shearer, Anaesthetist Ewan Jack and Endocrinologist Chris Kelly, who are pictured with friends at the summit of Cairn Toul.
