Biography

Cllr Rev Sam Ovens is presently an elected member of Clackmannanshire Council, serving as portfolio holder for Inclusion and Regeneration, with responsibility for housing, health, social services and education.

Cllr Ovens has previously held the position of ordained clergy in the Church of Scotland (retired parish minister). He has also served as an elected member on five different local authorities, including Clackmannanshire County Council, Central Regional Council, Clackmannanshire District Council, Falkirk District Council and Clackmannanshire Council - the period extends over some 36 years. He has chaired some of the most important committees, and has previous experience as Leader of Clackmannanshire Council.
