Biography
Dr Karen Facey is a chartered statistician, visiting research fellow at the University of Glasgow, honorary member of the Faculty of Public Health and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry, medicines regulation and has led the Health Technology Board for Scotland.
Since October 2003 she has been an independent consultant, assessing worldwide evidence to inform wise investment decisions in healthcare interventions. She works internationally and is keen to see ‘evidence’ from all stakeholders inform robust, transparent decision-making.
Karen is a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Resource Allocation in NHSScotland and the UK Committee on Safety of Devices. She also runs an international interest group on patient/public involvement in health technology assessment.
