Dr Karen Facey is a chartered statistician and honorary member of the Faculty of Public Health.She has worked in the pharmaceutical industry, medicines regulation and has led the Health Technology Board for Scotland.
Since October 2003 she has been an independent consultant, assessing worldwide evidence to inform wise investment decisions in healthcare interventions. She works internationally and is keen to see ‘evidence’ from all stakeholders inform robust, transparent decision-making.
She also chairs the NHSScotland Resource Allocation Committee, which is seeking to improve the way in which NHS resources are allocated to NHS Boards – taking account of local needs and circumstances.
