Fiona Mackenzie is the Chief Executive of Forth Valley NHS Board. A graduate of St. Andrews University, she joined the NHS as a Graduate Trainee and spent her early career working mainly in mental health.She worked in Acute Services in Lanarkshire until her appointment as Chief Executive of Highland Communities Trust in 1996 and later Highland Primary Care Trust in 1999. In October 2001 she was appointed to her current post. In this role she also chairs one of Scotland's three Regional Planning Groups. She is also a Non-Executive Director of NHS Education for Scotland. Since 2001, she has also chaired the local Substance Action Team which includes membership of the key agencies across the sectors involved in dealing with the challenges posed by substance misuse.
She has particular interest in the improvement of Clinical Quality through effective clinical/managerial working.
She is a member of the Institute of Healthcare Management and holds an MBA from Hull University.
