It is important to consider the health of the employee in relation to the work they are being asked to undertake. We aim to be fair, objective and base the assessment on risks for the post regardless of the applicants race, gender, social position, disability or sexuality.
The assessment normally includes a health questionnaire, review of past medical history and baseline physiological measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse). Additional examinations may be performed depending on the position applied for (eyesight check, hearing test, lung function test).
In general, Immunisations required by staff are dependant on the tasks they do. For more information, please contact us on any of the given numbers.
As part of the Employers responsibilities under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations, health surveillance is performed to ensure staff are fit to perform specific tasks and to ensure the task itself is not affecting the employees health.
Occupational Health is able to provide Health Surveillance as follows:-
| Audiometry | for noise exposed workers |
| Spirometry | for respirable hazards |
| Drivers Medicals | for employees who drive company vehicles |
| VDU eye screening | for habitual workers |
