Nutrition and Dietetics services in NHS Forth Valley are provided through the Acute and Community Dietetic Services. There is a dietetic service available at Forth Valley Royal Hospital as well as at four Community Hospitals : Falkirk, Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Bo'ness.
The Nutrition and Dietetics Department provides a range of services to the total population of Forth Valley both clinically and in terms of health improvement. Staff work closely with hospital staff, GPs, other members of the primary care team, local authority and the voluntary sector. Acute and community dietitians work closely together. The teams specialise particularly in the field of continuing care, mental health, learning disability, primary care and health promotion. Services provided include:
The dietetic department advises and provides formal and informal nutrition and dietetic education to medical, nursing and catering staff. It also provides a clinical placement programme for undergraduate Dietetic students.
