Infection Control Services

Location

The Infection Control Advisory Service is based within the Old Microbiology Labs, Falkirk Community Hospital, and provides a service to Forth Valley.

Services

Infection Control Advice is provided on an Area Wide basis by an Infection Control Manager, one Nurse Consultants, one Senior Infection Control Nurse Specialist, two Infection Control Nurse Specialists, an Infection Control Nurse, an Infection Control Doctor, a Surveillance Nurse, an SSIS Project Facilitators and three Secretary's.

The aim of the Infection Control Service is to contribute to the reduction and spread of healthcare associated infection through development and maintenance of policies which reflect legislation and are evidence based and by raising awareness of infection control risks and methods of prevention by all members of staff, patients and visitors by promoting a culture where infection control is everybody's business.
