The unit is ideally situated close to the main entrance and near the pharmacy department where the chemotherapy treatment is prepared. Patients can be treated in both beds or chairs and extra consultation treatment rooms are available in the unit which means specialist nurses can see people on an outpatient basis within an oncology setting.

The chemotherapy team is headed up by Fiona Galbraith and comprises four highly skilled staff nurses and two chemotherapy support workers as well as committed volunteers. Fiona and her team provide a dedicated chemotherapy service, which enables the majority of patients within Forth Valley to receive their treatment locally.

The majority of the other Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists will also be based within the new unit in Larbert and will continue to offer an excellent service, which includes advice, education and support to both patient and staff alike.
