Emergency Services for Forth Valley are provided in an Emergency Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
This Department has 22 assessment bays which are separated into treatment areas for major and minor conditions. It also two resuscitation rooms (six bays) served by a separate entrance to give direct access for patients arriving by ambulance who require urgent assistance. As well as a general
waiting area, the Department also has a separate waiting room for children.
Clinical & Acute Assessment UnitsThe Clinical Assessment Unit cares for patients referred by GPs from across Forth Valley for assessment and diagnostic tests. In addition, there is an Acute Assessment Unit where patients can receive urgent care and treatment for up to 48 hours before being either admitted onto a specialist ward or discharged home. GP Out-of-Hours services for the Falkirk area are also provided in an area near the Emergency Department with its own separate entrance and waiting area.
