'Friends' are voluntary groups of local residents who dedicate their time, energy and effort to raising funds for the benefit of hospitals and patients throughout Forth Valley
They also promote interest in the hospitals and provide a link between them and the communities they serve.
NHS Forth Valley currently has 5 Friends Groups associated with hospitals:
Each of these groups manage their own affairs and raise and distribute funds independent of NHS Forth Valley.
The recently established Friends of Forth Valley Royal is managed by twelve local residents who raise funds for the benefit of Forth Valley Royal Hospital staff, patients and patient relatives.
The organisation became formally constituted on the 13th of January 2011 and the intention is to apply for charitable status in the near future. The objects of the Group are:
