NHS Forth Valley recognises that eating good food is key to improving health & wellbeing of patients in hospital. Patients who Eat well, Get Well more quickly and Stay Well with fewer hospital admissions.
The NHS Forth Valley's Nutritional Care in Hospitals Policy (pdf, 158k) aims to promote a climate and environment that supports optimum nutrition for all in-patients.
NHS Forth Valley Catering Services provide over 3000 patient meals per day. A significant proportion of patients have special dietary needs which are catered for.
As part of your initial assessment on admission to hospital you can expect to be screened for your risk of malnutrition. This involves recording of your height & weight. Patients found to be at risk of malnutrition will be referred to our team of dietitians for further assessment & advice.
Mealtimes should provide people with adequate nutrition as well as an opportunity to socialise.
Meal times are as follows:
| Breakfast | from 7.45am |
