Public Consultation - 2002

July 2003

At its meeting in July Forth Valley NHS Board has given the green light to a new acute in-patient hospital for Forth Valley on the former RSNH site at Larbert.

In approving the Outline Business Case (OBC), Forth Valley NHS Board has agreed to:

arrow  A new acute hospital for Forth Valley on the RSNH site at Larbert
arrow  Provision of a range of in-patient non-acute beds, day case, outpatient and diagnostic services on one site in Stirling
arrow  The reconfiguration of some mental health and older peoples' in-patient facilities
arrow  Ongoing work to develop community services

Together, these proposals represent the largest investment in health services in Forth Valley since the 1980s and are a major part of the Healthcare Strategy for the area.

January 2003

In total 5,626 people responded from across Forth Valley to the request for public views on these questions.
